Maria (Mimi) Villanueva CPMI, PPMC
Vice President, Product Development Operations & Program Management
Mimi Villanueva leads Device Development Engineering, CMC, Quality, Manufacturing, and Program Management at Biora, working closely with all departments to streamline program strategy, operations, and enhance cross-functional collaboration. She brings to the company 20+ years of experience in R&D, quality, program management, product portfolio management, and business process transformation for early stage and Fortune 500 companies.
Before joining Biora Therapeutics, Ms. Villanueva was Vice President of Portfolio and Program Management at Adaptive Biotechnologies, where she established and led its Program Management Office (PMO), defining governance infrastructure for program and portfolio management across the organization, including pharma partnerships and co-development projects. Prior to Adaptive, she led oncology portfolio development at Hologic and established a global PMO for the cardiometabolic business unit at Alere (now Abbot). She has held leadership roles in quality, product development, and program management for companies such as Tandem Diabetes Care, Volcano Corporation (now Philips), Intel, Dade Behring (now Siemens), and Baxter Healthcare. Ms. Villanueva holds a BS in industrial management engineering and chemical engineering from De La Salle University and pursued executive education at Columbia Business School. She received her Program and Portfolio Management Certification from the Program Management Leadership Group and is certified as a Post-Merger Integration Professional by the Institute for Mergers, Acquisitions & Alliances.
